I want to win the gold medal at Rio: Jitu
This is the 5th World Cup medal for Jitu and makes him one of the strong contenders at the Rio Olympics in August 2016.
A delighted Jitu said, "This was the first world cup in 2016 and I am really happy to start with a gold. But the real target is the Rio Olympics. I want to win a gold for India at Rio and there is a lot of work still to be done. The NRAI, Army and OGQ are supporting me a lot towards my Olympic dream."
Viren Rasquinha, CEO of OGQ mentioned, "This a fabulous performance by Jitu against a world class field. It is a big boost to his confidence. OGQ has helped him with new pistols and a scatt training system as well as physical conditioning and physiotherapy support. Ammunition testing is also on the agenda. Jitu's self belief is his biggest asset." Indian record holder KT Irfan achieves 2016 Olympic qualification mark in 20 km race walk.
