Laishram Bombayla Devi is an experienced archer who has represented India at the Olympics thrice in a row at Beijing 2008, London 2012 and Rio 2016.

Born in Manipur in a family that was completely engaged in sports, her mother M. Jamini Devi has represented India in the past and her father Manglem Singh is the state coach of Manipur’s handball team. Bombayla took up archery at the young age of 11 and was a part of the Sports Authority of India in Imphal where she received her formal training.

The 33-year-old has several accolades to her name that includes four gold medals, five silver medals and four bronze medals at the Archery World Cup at its various stages since making her debut for India in 2007.

Her moment of pride came when she won the gold medal in Recurve Team event at the 2010 Commonwealth Games in New Delhi. In 2012, she was one of the proud recipients of ‘Arjuna Award’.

Her determination, passion for the sport and the desire to be among the best in the world has helped her establish herself in the World Archery Arena. Olympic Gold Quest is delighted to support her in her endeavors.
