India will be sending seven badminton players to Rio which is the biggest ever badminton contingent from India to qualify for the Olympics. Saina Nehwal will be leading the charge in women's singles along with P.V. Sindhu. This will be the third Olympics for London 2012 bronze medalist Saina Nehwal, while two time world championship bronze medalist Sindhu will be competing in her maiden Olympics. Jwala Gutta and Ashwini Ponnappa, who had represented India at the London Games, will play their second Olympics in the women's doubles event.
