Laxmirani Majhi

Event – Recurve Individual and Recurve Team

Laxmirani, from Jharkhand, is an experienced archer who is playing international tournaments since 2004. She has won many medals at continental championships. She was part of the Recurve Team that won silver medal at the 2015 World Championships, thus helping India secure a quota for Rio 2016 Olympics. She will be competing in Rio Olympics in the Individual and Team event.

Laxmirani was part of the Gold medal winning recurve women’s team at the Archery world cup stage 4 in Poland 2014. Her first chance to become an archer was offered to her when the selectors for the archery academy visited her Government School when she was 13 years old.
